REGULATION

How do you translate the quantity of CO2 into the equivalent number of trees?

Every tree is native to a certain region of the World and has specific properties that allow it to absorb more or less CO2 emissions.

In general, saplings that grow to become tall, strong and old trees, in a relatively fast timeframe, are those which absorb the highest quantities of CO2. On average, a sapling absorbs 5.9kg of CO2 per year, while a 10-year-old tree absorbs 22kg of CO2 per year.

In order to standardize our communication and impact measurement, we assume that a tree absorbs 22kg of CO2 per year.
